What is the order in which MacBook charging and power issues are examined?

For MacBooks that charge via USB-C, simply plugging in the adapter doesn't automatically provide power. A Type-C power agreement (Power Delivery 20V) must be established.

01

Adapter & 20V Input

The adapter's wattage, cable chip, and the 5V/20V voltage levels reaching the device are verified using an oscilloscope.

02

Type-C Port Controller

The integrity of the CD3215/CD3217 integrated circuits and data communication between the ports are checked.

03

PPBUS_G3H Main Line

The system measures whether there is a short circuit or voltage drop on the PPBUS_G3H line, which is the main power backbone of the motherboard.

04

SMC / T2 / M-Chip Startup

The power management chip (PMIC) is triggered, the battery data bus (SMBUS) and system boot sequence are completed.

Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) & T2 Security Chip Architecture

In newer generation Apple Silicon devices, RAM and SSD are directly embedded in the processor package and logic board. Repairing these devices requires specialized hardware and DFU restoration protocols.

DFU Mode & Firmware Recovery

Apple Silicon devices that won't turn on, freeze after an update, or display an exclamation mark can be recovered in DFU mode using Apple Configurator 2.

Unified RAM

In M-series chips, when integrated memory failures occur, the voltage regulators on the logic board are measured under a microscope.

NAND Flash & Data Security

In cases of hardware freezes occurring in soldered storage units, the goal is to restore motherboard functionality and regain access to user data.

Beylikdüzü MacBook Service Troubleshooting Chart

The possible technical reason behind the symptom seen in MacBook devices and the laboratory test performed:

Malfunction Symptom
Suspicious Hardware / Circuit Area
First Laboratory Test Performed
USB-C is plugged in but stays at 5V (no charging).
CD3215/CD3217 Type-C controller, ISL9240 charging IC, port corrosion.
Testing for 20V power delivery using a Type-C voltage/ammeter.
The screen goes black / the light cuts off when the lid is opened.
Flexgate cable, panel socket, door angle sensor (Hall Sensor).
Cover angle movement test and external Type-C monitor output isolation.
Trackpad Not Clicking / Case Opens
Lithium polymer battery swelling, bottom cover tension, cell deformation.
Bottom cover removal, battery pressure test, and cycle/health analysis.
A folder/question mark appears on startup.
macOS system crash, corrupted APFS file structure, NAND SSD power supply failure.
Disk Utility recovery environment, SMART health scan, and DFU mode check.
Liquid was spilled, the device is working but it's getting hot.
Hidden oxidation, leakage current at component pins, short circuit formation.
Complete disassembly of the motherboard, ultrasonic chemical pool cleaning, and thermal camera inspection.

Beylikdüzü MacBook Service Frequently Asked Questions

If my MacBook isn't charging, do I need to bring the adapter?

Yes. For MagSafe or Type-C charging issues, it is recommended to bring the original adapter and charging cable. The adapter's 20V power agreement and cable chip health are tested in our laboratory against the device.

If a MacBook won't turn on at all, does the logic board definitely need to be replaced?

No, a complete logic board replacement is expensive and in most cases unnecessary. Short-circuited MOSFETs, charge ICs, or power control chips can be repaired component-level under a microscope, providing a much more economical solution.

If the image disappears when the lid is moved, should the entire screen be replaced?

No. Especially in MacBook Pro models from 2016-2020, Flexgate failures, where the worn backlight flex cable is frequently repaired using micro-soldering, can be fixed for a third of the cost of a complete screen replacement.

Can I continue using my MacBook with a swollen battery?

Absolutely not recommended. Swollen lithium polymer cells put pressure on the trackpad from below and the top case from above, causing the trackpad to crack and the keyboard to warp. The device should be immediately switched off and brought to our service center.

Does a MacBook that's still working after a liquid spill require servicing?

Yes. If the device works on the first day after liquid contact, it doesn't mean it's undamaged. Minerals in the liquid will corrode (oxidize) the copper traces on the logic board over time. Urgent chemical cleaning is necessary to prevent the device from completely failing in the future.

MacBook Service Process Frequently Asked Questions

What is the warranty period for MacBook repairs?
Logic board chip repairs, screen replacements, battery and charging socket services performed by KTeknik Servis are covered by a 3 to 6-month service and workmanship warranty. A service receipt containing the warranty terms is provided upon delivery.
How does the fault detection and investigation process work?
When your device arrives at our service center, basic electrical checks are first performed using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers. The source of the fault and the total cost of the repair will be clearly communicated to you. No paid repairs will be initiated without your approval.
How long does it typically take to repair a MacBook?
Standard procedures such as battery and screen replacement and thermal maintenance are completed on most models within the same day. Chip-level Logic Board repairs or liquid damage inspections, including detailed testing processes, take 1-2 business days.
Will my files on my MacBook be deleted during hardware repair?
Your files will absolutely not be deleted during screen, battery, charging port, and motherboard hardware repairs. In cases of macOS operating system crashes or SSD failures, data recovery will be prioritized, and the user will be informed before the process begins.
What is the quality of the spare parts used?
MacBook devices use genuine and A+ quality certified replacement parts (Retina panels, zero-cycle batteries, genuine charging ICs). The choice of parts to be used will be clearly communicated before the process.
Do you accept shipments from outside Istanbul or from surrounding districts?
Yes. We accept devices from all over Türkiye and surrounding districts via our contracted courier service. Before sending your device, simply create a model and fault report via WhatsApp.
Can a MacBook that has been exposed to liquid be repaired?
Yes. When the device is brought in without being recharged, corrosion cleaning is performed in an ultrasonic chemical bath, and short-circuited integrated circuits and broken data paths can be successfully repaired using micro-soldering under a microscope.
Will there be an additional fee if the transaction is not approved or is cancelled?
No. No hidden costs are incurred beyond the preliminary inspection procedure shared during device acceptance. No parts will be replaced or repairs done at any cost without your price approval.
Do you repair chips on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) devices?
Yes. Power circuit repair, Type-C controller replacement, DFU mode firmware recovery, and screen repairs are professionally performed in our laboratory for all new generation MacBook Air and Pro models with Apple Silicon architecture.
What are your payment options?
At our Paradise AVM store, you can pay using cash, bank transfer/EFT, or credit card (single payment or installment options).
